「GBX-100S-2JF」
G-SHOCKのスポーツライン「G-LIDE」の新作は、夏に映えるマテリアル&カラーが特徴。ステンレススチール製のトップ、ミラー仕上げの斜面、クリアカラーのスケルトン樹脂製ベース部、陽射しを受けて煌めく波をイメージしたベゼルを組み合わせるなどして、夏のサーフシーンを表現した。一般的なサーフ系ウォッチとは異なる、落ち着いた雰囲気のデザインが好みだ。
G-SHOCKらしく、機能面の追求に抜かりはない。スマートフォンリンクを搭載。専用のアプリケーションを介して、潮汐情報や日の出 ／日の入時刻を世界約3300カ所から選択できる。液晶は視認性に優れる高精細なワイドフェイスを採用。タイドグラフ、ムーンデータ表示に加え、満潮／干潮時刻、満潮／干潮の潮位、日の出／日の入時刻の表示が可能だ。
といった具合に、トップサーファーが支持するG-SHOCKではあるが、計測タイム、距離、ペース、ラップタイム、ラップ距離、ラップペース、平均ペース、速度、平均速度、消費カロリーなど、トレーニング表示カスタマイズ機能も充実。バンドはフィット性と、水＆汗逃げを考慮したスリット入りのバイオマスプラスチック製ソフトウレタンを採用しており、ランニングウォッチとしても十分に活躍してくれそうだ。

「 MRG-BF1000RG」
伸縮性が高いグリーンのラバーストラップにカエルの瞳をイメージしたチタン製スクリューバック、ベージュのインデックスetc.。そう、このG-SHOCKの最上位シリーズの「MR-G」から登場した新モデルは、カエルがモチーフなのだ。しかも、世界最大の「ゴライアスガエル」！
ゴライアスガエルを調べてみると……アフリカ西部の熱帯雨林に生息する世界最大級で、全長約30cm以上、脚を伸ばせば約80cmにもなり、体重は3.3kgにものぼるという。その名も「 FROGMAN」（「MRG-BF1000RG」）はダイバーズ仕様で、カエルのサイズ並みに機能もマックスだ。
ダイビングでの作業時に手首の動きを妨げないように配慮された左右非対称なフォルムが特徴で、耐衝撃性は抜群。ケースやベゼル、裏蓋ボタン、ビスまで主要な外装パーツにはチタンを、そしてインデックスには暗所でも視認性の高いネオブライトを採用。スクリューバックには、この「ゴライアスガエル」の瞳をイメージしたグリーンのサファイアガラスが組み合わされていて、200mの防水性のみならず電波受信感度にも優れているという。
