「オープンAI」と「マイクロソフト」 提携関係継続で合意 発表
アメリカの「オープンAI」と、その主要な出資者であるIT大手「マイクロソフト」は、これまでの提携関係を継続させることで合意したと発表しました。両社は、AI開発をめぐり、競合相手となってきましたが、今回の合意で「最高のAIツールを提供することに注力する」としています。
オープンAIと、その主要な出資者であるマイクロソフトは11日、提携関係を継続させるための覚書に署名したと発表しました。
両社は、2019年から提携関係にありましたが、最近は、AI開発をめぐり、競合相手となってきたほか、非営利の研究機関として設立されたオープンAIが、営利化に向けた組織再編を模索する中で、将来の株式保有の比率などについて、対立が続いていたとみられています。
両社は、具体的な契約の条件は明らかにしていないものの、発表文の中で「すべての人々にとって最高のAIツールを提供することに注力する」とコメントしています。
アメリカの有力紙、ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナルは「今回の合意は両社の関係の緊張緩和を示唆するもので、オープンAIが営利企業を含む組織構造に移行する道を切り開く可能性がある」と伝えています。
