8月26日、JLRは、「クラシック ディフェンダー」の特別仕様車「V8 チャーチル エディション」を発表した。
クラシック ディフェンダーV8 チャーチル エディションは、2012 年から 2016 年にかけて生産されたディフェンダー90ないしは110がベースだ。
同特別仕様車は、ウィンストン・チャーチルの80歳の誕生日（1954年）に贈られたランドローバー・シリーズ1へのオマージュだ。このランドローバー・シリーズ1は、「UKE80」として登録され、現在はスイスの博物館に展示されている。
JLRのワークスビスポークのチームメンバーは、実際に博物館を訪ね、細部を確認したという。結果、クラシック ディフェンダーV8 チャーチル エディションはオリジナルモデルと同じ「ブロンズ グリーン」のボディカラーを採用。16インチのホイールも同色だ。
エクステリアには専用の亜鉛メッキのフロントバンパーやメタルメッシュグリル、「UKE 80」のデカール、リヤバッジなどを装備する。
グリーンを基調にしたインテリアには、インパネ上部に専用の時計もあしらわれた。
搭載するエンジンは自然級気の5.0リッターV8ガソリンエンジン。トランスミッションはZF製の8ATだ。
クラシック ディフェンダーV8 チャーチル エディションは10台限定で、価格は日本円で約5550万円から。
