アシックス（ASICS）は、キコ・コスタディノフ・スタジオ（Kiko Kostadinov Studio）とのコラボレーションモデル「UB10-S GEL-KAYANO（ゲルカヤノ） 20」を発表。5月2日（金）より、アシックス原宿フラッグシップなどの直営店、公式オンラインストア、スニーカーショップで発売する。
アシックススポーツとキコ・コスタディノフ・スタジオによるコラボのベースとなったのは「GEL-KAYANO（ゲルカヤノ）20」。軽いランニングからフルマラソンまで、優れた快適性と安定性を両立させるように設計されたシリーズだ。アッパーに張られた網目状のFLUIDFIT（フルイドフィット）テクノロジーがソックスのようなフィット感を生み出し、従来のオーバーレイに求められた役割を果たす構造が特徴となっている。
今回のコラボは、デコパージュや自然界が生み出す模倣という発想が着想源。自然の痕跡と自然界における廃棄物との複雑な関係に着目した。鮮やかなカラーとマットなカラーとのコントラストは自然と人間とのつながりを、アッパーのレイヤー素材は化石や岩石を、特徴的なモアレ紋様は日用既製品を、それぞれイメージしたという。
「UB10-S GEL-KAYANO 20」は、GEL-KAYANO 20の構築的な美しさを保ちつつ、スニーカーのクッショニング機能とFLUIDFITによるフィット感を両立。アウターソールに採用されたTRUSSTICサポートシステムを搭載するなどして、日常シーンで優れた快適性と安定性を実現した。
