6月23日、トヨタは、新しい「センチュリー」を発表した。
今回、改良を受けたのはSUVタイプのセンチュリーで、セダンタイプは変更ナシ。
新たにリヤドアガラス＆リヤクオーターガラスに、3段階調光機能付プライバシーガラスを採用した。
スイッチをONにすると、透明な2枚の合わせガラスに挟まれた特殊なフィルムが作用し、透明・半透明・調光の3段階機能で、ガラスの色がホワイト調へと変化。外からの視線を遮りながら、柔らかな外光を取り入れた和室のような落ち着いた雰囲気に包まれるという。リヤ左右席どちらからでも操作可能だ。
足まわりでは、サスペンションのチューニングを変更し、快適性を高めた。なお、SUVタイプのセンチュリーのサスペンションは。フロントにマクファーソンストラット式、リヤにe-AxleやDRSユニットの搭載に対応したマルチリンク式を採用する。
パワートレインは変わらず、センチュリーにふさわしい静粛性と、力強く爽快な走りを両立した、V6 3.5リッター プラグインハイブリッドシステム。日常はBEV、長距離の移動やいざという時にはHEVとして活躍する、ショーファーカーのニーズに最適なシステムを搭載する。
新しいトヨタ センチュリーの価格は￥27,000,000。従来モデルの￥25,000,000から8%値上がりした。
