袴田巌さんの再審無罪から1年 再審制度の早期見直し求める集会
再審＝やり直しの裁判で袴田巌さん（89）に無罪が言い渡されてから1年がたったことを受けて27日、静岡市で再審制度の早期の見直しを求める集会が開かれ、姉のひで子さん（92）が法改正の実現を訴えました。
59年前の1966年に今の静岡市清水区で一家4人が殺害された事件の再審で、静岡地方裁判所が去年9月26日に袴田巌さんに無罪を言い渡してから1年がたったことを受けて、県弁護士会は27日、審理の長期化が課題となっている再審制度の早期見直しを求めて静岡市内で集会を開きました。
このなかで姉のひで子さんが登壇し、「巌だけが助かればいいわけじゃない。法改正を実現していただきたい」と訴えました。
登壇後、ひで子さんは報道各社の取材に対し、この1年について「無罪になり、巌が死刑囚ではなくなったということで気が楽になりました」と振り返りました。
また、89歳になった袴田さんについては「目がつり上がっていたのが柔和な顔になりました。せめて95歳くらいまで長生きさせたい」と語りました。
27日の集会には袴田さんの参加も検討されましたが、長期間死刑の恐怖にさらされた影響で意思疎通が難しいため断念したということです。
弁護団は、検察や警察などの責任を追及するため、来月9日に、国と県に損害賠償を求める訴えを起こす方針です。
