glo、新デバイス「Hilo」「Hilo Plus」全国発売
ブリティッシュ・アメリカン・タバコ・ジャパン(BATジャパン)は、6月9日から宮城県限定で販売しているデバイス「glo Hilo(グロー・ヒーロ)」と、新デバイス「glo Hilo Plus」を、9月1日から全国展開する。

6月23日に実施した戦略説明会の中で、BAT 最高経営責任者 タデウ・マロッコ氏が発表した。
グロー・ヒーロは、加熱時間の短さ、高速充電、Bluetoothによるスマホ連携などを特徴とする加熱式たばこデバイス。使用できるたばこスティックは同時発売された「ヴァルト」のみで、従来のグロー・ハイパー用のたばこスティックは使用できない。
加熱時間は、加熱開始から吸い始めるまで5秒という短さを実現した。新加熱技術「TurboStart テクノロジー」による進化で、赤外線と熱が伝わりやすいクオーツの両方を使用し、スティックを二重加熱する仕組みとなっている。
1回の喫煙時間は、スタンダードモードで5分10秒、ブーストモードで4分10秒。パフ数(吸い込む回数)の制限はなく、これらの時間だけ喫煙できる。またスマホ連携により、アプリを使って通常約5分の喫煙時間を3分や4分に短縮するなどの機能を利用できる。
価格はグロー・ヒーロが3,980円、ヴァルトが20本入り580円。グロー・ヒーロ・プラスおよび全国展開についての詳細は、今後発表される。
