ガーミン、音声送受信に対応した最新ハンディGPS
ガーミンジャパンは、メッセージ通信や位置情報共有などが可能なハンディGPSの最新モデル「GPSMAP H1」と「GPSMAP H1i Plus」の2モデルを9月18日に発売した。価格はGPSMAP H1が103,800円、GPSMAP H1i Plusが151,800円。

携帯電話の電波が届かない場所でも位置情報の確認を可能にするハンディGPS。GNSSマルチバンドテクノロジーにより、2周波数帯(L1信号・L5信号)を受信可能。誤信号を効果的に識別排除することで、山間部や複雑な地形でも高い精度を発揮。3軸電子コンパスと高度気圧計からなるABCセンサーと内蔵マップにより、正確な位置情報を得られる。
新モデルでは操作性を向上。両サイドと画面下部に配置された物理ボタンと、タッチスクリーンによるダブルインターフェイスを備える。地図操作には、タッチパネルでのピンチズームも対応している。
ディスプレイサイズは3.5型に拡大。屋外でも視認しやすい半透過カラーTFTディスプレイを採用している。バッテリー駆動時間は、通常モード（GNSSマルチバンド）で約145時間。米国防総省のMIL規格(MIL-STD-810)に準拠する堅牢性も備える。
また、「GPSMAP H1i Plus」には、マイクとスピーカー、内外カメラを搭載。音声でのメッセージ送受信が可能なったほか、音声送信は最大30秒まで送信可能。返信された音声をスピーカーで聴くことができる。
内外カメラによって、その場の状況を撮影して保存・送信も可能。カメラ性能は内カメラが5MP、外カメラが8MP。テキストメッセージは1,600文字まで対応する。GPSMAP H1i Plusのみイリジウム衛星を利用する通信機能「inReach」も搭載している。
本体サイズは2モデル共通で、6.7×17.9×3.3cm(幅×高さ×奥行き)。重量はGPSMAP H1が276g、GPSMAP H1i Plusが290g。
