ブザンソン国際指揮者コンクールで米田覚士さんが優勝
世界的な指揮者の小澤征爾さんもかつて優勝した若手指揮者の登竜門、フランスの「ブザンソン国際指揮者コンクール」で、岡山県出身の米田覚士さんが優勝しました。
2年に1度、フランス東部で開かれるブザンソン国際指揮者コンクールは、去年亡くなった指揮者の小澤征爾さんもかつて優勝した若手指揮者の登竜門として知られています。
ことしは、日本人3人を含む20人が本選に出場し、このうち岡山県出身の米田覚士さん（29）が、上位3人による27日の決勝に進みました。
米田さんは決勝で、今回の大会のために作られた曲を含む3つの課題曲に取り組み、こまやかな手さばきや全身のダイナミックな動きを使い分けてタクトを振り、会場から大きな拍手が沸き起こりました。
そして授賞式で優勝が発表されると、米田さんは驚いた様子で、審査委員長と抱き合って喜んでいました。
米田さんは「コンクールの1週間、相当きつかったので頑張ってよかったです。優勝できた理由はわかりませんが指揮を通じて音楽で一緒になれた人が一人でもいたら、うれしいです」と話していました。
ブザンソン国際指揮者コンクールで日本人が優勝するのは、2019年の沖澤のどかさん以来で、米田さんが11人目です。
