大相撲秋場所 大の里が5回目の優勝 横綱昇進後は初めて
大相撲秋場所の千秋楽で、大の里が13勝2敗で並んだ豊昇龍との横綱どうしの優勝決定戦を制し、2場所ぶり5回目の優勝を果たしました。ことし夏場所後に横綱に昇進してからは初めてです。
秋場所は14日目を終えて、横綱 大の里が1敗で単独トップに立ち、横綱 豊昇龍が2敗で追う展開となり、優勝争いは両横綱に絞られていました。
千秋楽の28日、大の里は結びの一番で豊昇龍と対戦し「押し出し」で敗れて2人が13勝2敗で並びました。
16年ぶりに横綱どうしの対戦となった優勝決定戦は、土俵際でもつれて物言いがついたものの大の里が行司軍配どおりに「寄り倒し」で勝ち、2場所ぶり5回目の優勝を果たしました。ことし夏場所後に横綱に昇進してからは初めての優勝です。
大の里は今場所、4日目に平幕の伯桜鵬に金星を許したものの、身長1メートル92センチ、体重187キロの体格から馬力を生かして前に出る相撲が抜群でした。
11日目まで単独トップだった豊昇龍が終盤に連敗する中、大の里は5日目以降、不戦勝を含めて10連勝と集中力を切らしませんでした。
千秋楽の結びの一番ではこれまで2勝6敗と負け越している豊昇龍に敗れましたが、25歳の東の横綱が最後に横綱どうしの決定戦を制しました。
