ドコモ、SIMカードの枠を100%再利用した「エコハードケース」
NTTドコモは、回収したSIMカード枠をリサイクル素材として活用したスマートフォン用ケース「エコハードケース」を発売した。価格は1,540円。全国のドコモショップおよびドコモオンラインショップで取り扱う。対応機種はiPhone 17。

素材には、新規プラスチックを使わず、回収されたSIMカード枠のみを100%使用。ケース1個につき約7.5枚分のSIMカード枠を再利用している。色は素材そのものの風合いを活かしたアースグリーンで、薄くしなやかながらスマートフォンをしっかり保護できる設計となっている。本体サイズは74.1×12×152.1mm、重量は約19.8g。素材はABS樹脂。
また、売上金の1%相当は、日本自然保護協会へ寄付される。寄付対象期間は2026年9月30日まで。
エコハードケースは、9月23日～29日まで大阪・関西万博内で経済産業省が開催する「サーキュラーエコノミー研究所」で展示される。会場では製品とその製造プロセスが紹介される予定。
製造は、「回収・分別」「粉砕」「ペレット化」「製造」の4工程を経て行なわれており、従来の新規素材使用と比較して温室効果ガス排出量を約20%削減できるという。
