グーグル、Chromebook PlusでGemini強化 レノボは新型
Googleは、Chromebook Plusシリーズの全製品を対象に、AIを活用したさまざまな機能を新たに提供する。機能の多くはChromeOSに直接組み込まれる。

「画面をレンズで検索」機能は、画面上のものを素早く認識して情報を得られる機能。ランチャーを長押し(またはスクリーンショット ツールで選択)するだけで、画像を選択して検索し、類似の商品や詳細情報をすぐに見つけられる。画面を切り替えることなく利用できる。
「テキスト キャプチャ」は、レシートやレシピなどの画像から直接情報を抽出し、編集可能なテキストに変換する機能。手入力の手間を省けるほか、イベントの招待状の内容をハイライトすれば、ワンクリックでGoogle カレンダーに詳細が自動入力される。
新しい「クイック インサート キー」により、AIで生成した画像や写真、絵文字の挿入がより簡単になった。「文書読解サポート」は長文を要約するだけでなく、新たに追加された「簡略化」ボタンで難しい表現をわかりやすく言い換えて、読みやすい文章に変換する。
Chromebook Plusのユーザーは、「Google AI Pro」プランを12カ月間無料で利用できる。このプランには、GmailやGoogle ドキュメントなどでGeminiを活用できる機能と、2TBのクラウド ストレージが含まれる。さらに、「NotebookLM」にもワンクリックでアクセスでき、調査や執筆のサポートがすぐに受けられる。
■ AI処理に優れたCPUを搭載するChromebook Plusの新製品
レノボ・ジャパンは、高性能なChromebook「Lenovo Chromebook Plus Gen 10」を発表した。7月下旬に発売される。価格は115,280円。
Lenovo Chromebook Plus Gen 10は、MediaTek Kompanio Ultraプロセッサーを搭載するChromebook。OSはChromeOS。最大50TOPSのNPUによる強力なAI処理能力が特徴で、オンデバイスで動作するスマートグルーピング(タブ・文書・アプリをカテゴリ別に整理)や、オフラインでの画像編集機能など、インターネット接続不要で快適にクリエイティブ作業を行なえる。有機ELディスプレイや指紋認証センサー、Dolby Atmos対応の4つのスピーカーを搭載するなどプレミアム仕様で、Chromebook Plus最長という約17時間のバッテリー駆動が可能。
Chromebookに統合されたGeminiにより、「画面をレンズで検索」機能では、タブを切り替えずに画面上の情報を即座に検索可能。「テキスト キャプチャ」では、文書・メール・写真から文字を読み取り、Google カレンダーやGoogle ドキュメントに直接追加できる。強化された「文書読解サポート」は、専門用語の多い文章をわかりやすく要約し、フォローアップ質問も可能。

Lenovo Chromebook Plus Gen 10のディスプレイは14.0型/1,920×1,200ドットのOLED(有機ELディスプレイ)。光沢ありで、10点のマルチタッチ対応。CPUはMediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 プロセッサー。メモリは16GB、ストレージ(UFS)は256GB。ファンレス仕様。本体サイズは約314.2×219.1×15.79mm、重量は約1.26kg。
