コメの価格高騰 フードバンクでコメほとんど提供できず 宮崎
コメの価格が高騰する中、困窮世帯などへの支援に取り組む宮崎市のフードバンクでは、農家などからの寄付が激減し、3月からコメをほとんど提供できない状態になっています。
宮崎市の「フードバンクみやざき」では、企業や市民、農家などから寄付された食品を月に1回、生活に困窮した世帯に無料で配付しているほか、子ども食堂などにも提供しています。
団体では、寄付されたレトルト食品やカップめんなどを倉庫で保管していますが、物価高の影響で寄付が減り、現在は去年の半分ほどの量にとどまっているといいます。
特に手に入らないのが、価格が高騰しているコメです。
去年までは農家などから大量の寄付があったため、2トン程度の保管を継続し、支援している世帯に毎月5キロずつ配っていました。
ところが、ことしに入って寄付がほとんどなくなったため、保管量は350キロまで減り、3月から緊急性の高い場合を除いて提供できなくなっています。
また、コメ以外の食品についても、1世帯当たり4袋ほど配っていましたが、1袋か2袋に減らさざるをえないということです。
一方で支援を求める人は増加し、去年の時点で80世帯ほどだった利用者は4月には116世帯まで増えていて、団体では対応に苦慮しています。
「フードバンクみやざき」の長友宮子代表理事は、「困窮家庭にとってコメはすごく助かる食材ですが、確保が難しく困っています」と話しています。
