Google Play、ゲーム中にリアルタイムでAIに質問 ゲーム関連機能を強化
Googleは、Androidアプリストア「Google Play」において、ゲーム関連機能の強化と新たな機能の提供を発表した。これらは日本を含む一部の地域で順次開始され、10月1日以降は他の国・地域にも拡大される。

AIアシスタント「Gemini」と連携したオーバーレイ機能「Google Play Games Sidekick」では、ゲーム中にリアルタイムでチュートリアルや攻略法などの情報を音声で提供し、ゲームを中断することなくサポートを受けられる。Gemini Liveの画面共有機能を通じて現在のプレイ状況を認識し、状況に応じたアドバイスを行なう。
また、複数のゲームを横断してプロフィール、実績、ポイントなどを統合表示する「ゲーマープロフィール」も新たに追加された。ユーザーはAIで生成したアバターでプロフィールをカスタマイズできる。
Google Play Pointsと連動したリワードプログラムの新コンテンツとしては、ポイントの報酬をかけてフレンドと競い合える「Google Play Games Leagues」を提供。第1回は人気タイトル「Subway Surfers」で10月10日から23日まで実施される。
さらに、これまでベータ版として提供されてきた、PC向けサービス「Google Play Games」を正式版として提供する。モバイルとPC間でのゲーム進行状況の引き継ぎが可能となり、マルチデバイスでのシームレスな体験が実現する。提供タイトルは20万本以上。
アップデートされた「マイページ」タブでは、ポイント、定期購入、ゲームデータ、アップデート、おすすめなどの情報が一画面に集約され、ゲームだけでなく前回アクセスしたオーディオブックやポッドキャストなどの表示にも対応する予定。
