能登半島地震から1年4か月 大型連休中もボランティア活動続く
能登半島地震の発生から5月1日で1年と4か月です。大型連休の期間中も被災地には全国各地から多くのボランティアが訪れ、支援活動を続けています。
去年の元日に発生した能登半島地震では、石川県と富山県、新潟県の3つの県で災害関連死を含め584人が亡くなりました。
災害関連死については遺族の申請を受けた審査が続けられていて、死者はさらに増える可能性があります。
石川県のまとめによりますと、県内の住宅被害は4月30日の時点でおよそ11万6000棟に上っています。
去年9月の豪雨災害で二重に被災した地域では、自宅の片付けや家財の運び出しなどを終えられていない被災者も少なくありません。
石川県内では9つの市と町の社会福祉協議会などがボランティアセンターを開設していて、大型連休中も全国各地から多くのボランティアが訪れています。
輪島市では4月28日、およそ60人のボランティアが参加し、片付けなどの作業にあたりました。
ボランティアに参加した金沢市の40代の男性は「早く復興して皆さんが笑顔になればと思います」と話していました。
地震で被災した70代の男性は「ボランティアの依頼は3回目ですが本当に助かります」と話していました。
輪島市の社会福祉協議会では、被災者からボランティアの依頼があったものの対応が完了していないものが、4月28日の時点でまだ100件近くあるということです。
社会福祉協議会が窓口となったボランティアの受け入れは今後、徐々に縮小されていく見通しで、支援を求める被災者をどう支えていくのかが課題となっています。
