フジロックフェスティバル 2025、注目はUKアーティスト勢！ 個性溢れる6組にフィーチャー
日本最大級の音楽フェス「フジロックフェスティバル’25（FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'25）」が7月25日〜27日にいよいよ開催される。中でも注目なのが、UKアーティストたち。25日のヘッドライナーを務めるフレッド・アゲインなど6組の魅力を開催概要とともに紹介する。

7月25〜27日に苗場スキー場で開催される日本最大級の音楽フェス「フジロックフェスティバル’25（FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'25）」。人気アーティストが国内外から集結し、今年も熱気あふれるステージを繰り広げる。日本からは、今年再始動を果たしたSuchmosや山下達郎、Vaundy、Creepy Nuts、RADWIMPSなどが出演。またヘッドライナーは、7月25日がフレッド・アゲイン（FRED AGAIN..）、26日がヴルフペック（VULFPECK）、27日がヴァンパイア・ウィークエンド（VAMPIRE WEEKEND）が務める予定だ。

1 現代UKジャズシーンの熱気を伝える5人組／エズラ・コレクティヴ「God Gave Me Feet For Dancing (feat. Yazmin Lacery）」
今年のブリット・ワード2025で最優秀グループ賞に輝いたエズラ・コレクティヴ（EZRA COLLECTIVE）。ロンドン界隈で活況のUKジャズシーンの熱気を伝えてくれる5人組。というより、彼らこそがシーンを牽引してきた張本人と言うべきか。常識に囚われないジャズバンドの視点からアフロビートやヒップホップ、ファンクなどを取り入れたダンサブルなジャズで踊らせる。昨年9月にリリースされたアルバム『Dance, No One’s Watching』からは、ソウルシンガーのヤスミン・レイシーをボーカルに迎えたグルーヴィーなナンバー「God Gave Me Feet For Dancing」が皆のフェイバリットに。アメリカのオバマ元大統領の2024年の大好きな25曲のリストにまでランクイン！

2 初来日を果たす急躍進中の注目DJ／バリー・キャント・スウィム「How It Feels」
2023年にリリースのデビューアルバム『When Will We Land?』で旋風を巻き起こしたDJ/プロデューサーのバリー・キャント・スウィム（BARRY CAN'T SWIM）。同アルバムはマーキュリー・プライズの候補に上がり、ブリット・アワード最優秀ダンスアクトにノミネート。ジャネット・ジャクソン風のしなやかなR&Bチューン「How It Feels」が、さまざまなプレイリストやオシャレなスポットを席巻した。7月にリリースの最新アルバム『Loner』でいっそう飛躍を遂げるのは間違いなし。アーティスト名とは裏腹にホントは泳げるんじゃないかという噂も…。

3 アフリカンルーツをスタイリッシュにクールに描く／リトル・シムズ「Point And Kill (feat. Obongjayar）」
最新アルバム『Lotus」が好評のラッパーのリトル・シムズ（LITTLE SIMZ）は、ナイジェリア出身の両親の下、ロンドンで誕生。自身のルーツを鑑みながら、アフリカ音楽と文化の影響をクールな都会的フィルターを通して描き出す。2022年のブリット・アワードで最優秀新人賞を獲得し、4作目のアルバム『Sometimes I Might Be Introvert』でマーキュリー・プライズを受賞。ロンドン在住のナイジェリア人シンガーのオボンジェイヤーと組んだ「Point And Kill」のMVは、そのスタイリッシュなサウンドとヴィジュアルの最高峰。多国籍文化が交わるロンドンアートシーンの奥深さを窺わせる。

4 異種類サウンドと好奇心が生み出すユニークな一体感／イングリッシュ・ティーチャー「The World’s Biggest Paving Slab」
1月の初来日公演を大盛況に終えたUKリーズ出身の4人組、イングリッシュ・ティーチャー（ENGLISH TEACHER）が早くも再来日する。デビューアルバム『This Could Be Texas』で見事マーキュリー・プライズを受賞し、多くのメディアが年間ベストアルバムに選出。プログレからエイミー・ワインハウスやレディオヘッドにポストパンクまで、それぞれのメンバーが異種類の音楽好きにも関わらず、一緒に演奏した時に生み出される不思議な一体感に魅せられる。「The World’s Biggest Paving Slab」はじめ、好奇心に満ちたユニークな横道が次々と現れる楽曲は驚きの連続だ。

5 ブルーノートが目を付けた新世代ポップジャズ／マヤ・デライラ「Breakup Season (feat. Samm Henshaw)」
SNSから火が付き、名門ジャズレーベルのブルーノートと契約という、現代っ子を象徴するかのようなマヤ・デライラ（MAYA DELILAH）。YouTube やTikTokなど数々の動画でギターの腕は証明済み。3月にリリースされたデビューアルバム『The Long Way Round』では、温かみのある歌の魅力も聴かせてくれる。アイスランドのレイヴェイと同様に、既成ルールに囚われない新世代のポップジャズを届けてくれる注目アーティストだ。

6 UK音楽シーンの未来を映し出す最重要DJが初日ヘッドライナーに／フレッド・アゲイン「Rumble (with Skrillex & Flowdan）」
