自衛隊装甲車の後継に民生用車両を検討 防衛省
自衛隊の装甲車の後継として防衛省が初めて、民生用の車両を防弾化して導入することを検討していることがわかりました。大手自動車メーカーの車両を使って性能試験を行い、導入を判断する方針です。
陸上自衛隊の軽装甲機動車は有事に偵察用などに使うことが想定され、全国の部隊におよそ1800台配備されていますが、8割ほどが耐用年数を超え、防衛省が後継の車両の取得を検討しています。
こうしたなか、防衛省が初めて民生用の車両を防弾化して導入することを検討していることが、関係者への取材でわかりました。
来年度、試験用の車両を調達し2028年度に性能試験を行う方針で、トヨタ自動車の「ランドクルーザー」2車種と、いすゞ自動車の「DーMAX」の計3車種を数台ずつ調達することを検討しているということです。
性能試験では防弾化した車両を使って車体の耐久性などを確認する予定で、来年度予算の概算要求におよそ6億5000万円を盛り込んでいます。
試験で民生用の車両を導入するかどうか判断し、導入を決めた場合には改めて車種の選定を行う方針です。
関係者によりますと、今回の検討の背景には従来の車両メーカーが事業から撤退したことや、別の業者との見積もりで想定を超える高額になったことがあるということです。
