奈良 桜井 大神神社で「鎮花祭」無病息災を祈る
神前に薬を供えて、無病息災を祈る「鎮花祭」が奈良県桜井市の大神神社で行われました。
桜井市にある大神神社の「鎮花祭」は、春の花が散るころに病気が広がると考えられていたことから、はやり病などを鎮めようと1300年以上前から続く神事です。
全国の製薬会社から薬が届けられることから「薬まつり」とも呼ばれ、神前にはかぜ薬や胃薬などおよそ2500点が供えられました。
神事では、神職が薬草のゆり根を供えて祝詞をあげたあと、4人のみこが疫病退散などを願う「奇魂の舞」という神楽を奉納しました。
このあと、参列した製薬会社や医療関係者などが神前に玉串をささげて無病息災を祈っていました。
大阪から訪れた70代の男性は「祭りには何度か来たことがあります。年齢を重ねるごとに健康に過ごしたいと思っています」と話していました。
神前に供えられた医薬品は県内の福祉施設に寄付されるということです。
