トランプ大統領 パウエル議長に手書きで「遅すぎる」と書簡
アメリカのトランプ大統領はFRB＝連邦準備制度理事会のパウエル議長に手書きで「遅すぎる」などと書き込んだ書簡を送り、改めて利下げを求めました。ホワイトハウスのレビット報道官は記者会見でこの書簡を紹介してアメリカの政策金利が各国に比べて高いことを強調し、政権全体でFRBに圧力をかける形になっています。
トランプ大統領は30日、自身のSNSに「“遅すぎる”パウエル議長と、理事会のメンバー全員はアメリカで最も簡単で権威ある職に就きながら失敗し、今も失敗を続けている」などと投稿しました。
そして各国の中央銀行の政策金利がランキングで示された紙に手書きで「遅すぎる」などと書き込んだパウエル議長宛の書簡をSNSに掲載し、改めて利下げを求めました。
その後、ホワイトハウスのレビット報道官は記者会見でこの書簡を紹介しました。
レビット報道官は、スイス、カンボジア、日本など政策金利が低い国から順に読み上げたうえでアメリカの金利が各国に比べて高いことを強調し、「アメリカにインフレはない。大統領は正しい」などと述べFRBに利下げを求めました。
トランプ政権内では、バンス副大統領やベッセント財務長官からもFRBの金融政策を批判する発言が相次いでいて、政権全体で圧力をかける形になっています。
