NVIDIAがOpenAIに最大14.8兆円投資 10GW規模のAIインフラ構築へ
OpenAIとNVIDIAは22日、超知能(superintelligence)実現に向けた次世代モデルのトレーニングや実行のための「次世代AIインフラ」に、少なくとも10GW(ギガワット)のNVIDIAシステムを導入する戦略的提携を発表した。

データセンターや電力容量などを含めた計画実現のため、NVIDIAはOpenAIに対し最大1,000億ドル(約14.8兆円)を段階的に投資する。まずはNVIDIAの次世代「Vera Rubin」プラットフォームを活用し、2026年後半の稼働開始を目標とする。
OpenAIのサム・アルトマンCEOは、「コンピューティングインフラは未来の経済基盤となる。NVIDIAとの協業で構築する基盤を活用し、新たなAIブレークスルーを生み出すとともに、人々や企業に大規模な形で恩恵をもたらす」と説明。OpenAIは、AIファクトリー計画において、NVIDIAを優先的な戦略的パートナーとして協業する。
またこの提携は、Microsoft、Oracle、ソフトバンク、Stargateパートナーなどとも連携し、OpenAIとNVIDIAの既存の取り組みを補完するとしている。両社は意向書(letter of intent)を締結し、戦略的提携の詳細は、今後数週間で最終決定する。
