手押し車の高齢者転倒する事故 再現動画で注意呼びかけ NITE
歩行をサポートする手押し車を使用していた高齢者が、段差でつまずいて転倒し、大けがをする事故が起きていることから、NITE＝製品評価技術基盤機構が、事故を再現した動画を公開し、注意を呼びかけています。
NITEは、9月15日の敬老の日を前に、歩行をサポートする手押し車での転倒事故を再現した動画を公開しました。
NITEによりますと、手押し車を使用していた高齢者が、段差に車輪をひっかけてつまづいたり、斜面で転倒したりするなどして、大けがをした事故が、去年3月までの10年間に、少なくとも16件報告されているということです。
また、去年6月には、東京都内で80代の女性が、エスカレーターから買い物用の手押し車を降ろす際に転倒し、死亡する事故も起きています。
このため、NITEは、手押し車を使用する際には、
▽段差のある所や、急な坂道を避けること
▽荷物を入れすぎないようにすること
▽ハンドルの高さが体にあっているか確認すること
などに注意するよう呼びかけています。
また、人によっては、車いすやつえなど、ほかの福祉用具を使用したほうが安全な場合があるとして、手押し車の使用が体の状態に適しているか、医師や介護士などにも相談するよう呼びかけています。
