塩野義製薬 JTの医薬品事業など約1600億円で買収へ
製薬大手の「塩野義製薬」は、JT＝日本たばこ産業の医薬品事業をあわせておよそ1600億円で買収すると発表しました。
会社は買収によって効率化を進め、研究開発を強化していきたいとしています。
発表によりますと、大阪に本社を置く塩野義製薬は、JT＝日本たばこ産業から傘下の製薬会社「鳥居薬品」や医薬品事業をあわせておよそ1600億円で買収することでJTと合意しました。
塩野義製薬は鳥居薬品に対し、TOB＝株式の公開買い付けを行うなどして、年内までにすべての事業の買収を目指す方針で、買収によって両社が強みを持つ感染症や循環器などの分野の研究体制や販売を強化するねらいがあるということです。
また、医薬品は国の公定価格で販売され、原材料費や人件費が高騰する中でも価格転嫁が難しくなっていることから、会社は買収によって効率化を図りながら経営資源を新薬の研究開発に集中させることで、競争力の強化を図りたいとしています。
薬の研究開発の競争が激しくなるなか、塩野義製薬はほかの企業との連携も深めたい考えです。
一方のJTは、傘下の鳥居薬品を含めて医薬品事業から撤退し、本業のたばこ事業に集中することになります。
