カーク氏銃撃 22歳の容疑者逮捕 州知事“政治的暴力防止を”
アメリカのトランプ大統領に近い保守系の若手政治活動家を銃撃して殺害した疑いなどで、捜査当局は22歳の男を逮捕しました。事件を受けてSNS上では政治的な対立をあおるような投稿も一部で見られ現場となった西部ユタ州の知事は超党派で政治的な暴力をなくしていくべきだと訴えました。
トランプ大統領に近い保守系の若手政治活動家、チャーリー・カーク氏は、10日、アメリカ西部ユタ州の大学で開かれていたイベントで銃撃され、死亡しました。
捜査当局は12日、タイラー・ロビンソン容疑者（22）をカーク氏を殺害した疑いなどで逮捕するとともに来週、訴追する見通しだと明らかにしました。
これまでの調べで、ロビンソン容疑者の家族の話として容疑者が、近年、政治により関心を寄せるようになり、事件前にはカーク氏への嫌悪感を示していたことや、押収された薬きょうに「ファシスト」と刻印されていたことなどが明らかになっています。
複数のアメリカメディアによりますと、容疑者はどの政党にも登録していなかったということです。
カーク氏は保守的な価値観を若い世代に広げる活動に取り組んでいて、事件を受けてSNS上では政治的な対立をあおるような投稿も一部で見られ社会の分断が懸念されています。
会見でユタ州のコックス知事は「事態をエスカレートさせるのか、出口を見つけるのかはわれわれに委ねられた選択だ」と述べ、超党派で政治的な暴力をなくしていくべきだと訴えました。
