パナソニック、“バーバー”のためのバリカン 日米欧で展開
パナソニックは、理美容師向けプロ用バリカンの新シリーズ「THE BARIKAN」(ザ バリカン)を立ち上げる。第1弾のプロ用T字トリマー「ER-XT70」が9月に日欧で同時発売され、グローバル展開も行なう。

約40年前にプロ用バリカン事業に参入したパナソニックは、使いやすさや精密カットできる性能が評価され、日本のほか欧州(ドイツ、フランス、イタリア)でもトップシェアを獲得。近年は男性の人気スタイルの変遷によりバーバー(理容師)の影響力や発信力が高まっているという。
そこでパナソニックは、バーバーのための製品開発とマーケティング活動を強化する。日本、欧州に加え米国やアジアでも展開し、新たなバーバー需要を開拓して、グローバル市場で販売拡大を図っていく。
日本と海外のバーバーカルチャーを融合させた、異業種とのコラボレーションも展開する。バーバーショップ「MR.BROTHERS CUT CLUB」と共に、ガーナでバーバーの育成活動に取り組むほか、バーバートレンドの発信地である米国や、国毎に微妙にトレンドが異なるという欧州、そして「THE BARIKAN」ブランドを発信する日本の3地域において、それぞれのトップバーバーとアンバサダー契約を締結。3拠点でコンテンツを作成し、世界中に配信していく。
■ 視認性に優れたT字トリマー
新シリーズの「THE BARIKAN」は、日本のバーバーカルチャーを世界に発信していくという想いを込めて命名された。バリカンは、海外ではクリッパーと呼ばれる器具。日本では、フランスのメーカーであるBariquand et Marre(バリカン・エ・マール)の製品が普及したことで「バリカン」の名で呼ばれるようになった経緯がある。
「THE BARIKAN」T字トリマー ER-XT70は、視認性の高さとパワフルカットが特徴。フェードスタイルや、額・耳周りの細部まで精密にカットしやすく、自社開発で自社生産の45度鋭角刃、高回転モーターで、太い毛もスムーズにカットできる。パワーは2段階の切り替えが可能。持ちやすく、動かしやすいエルゴノミックデザインを採用し、角度をつけたカットもしやすい指置き形状になっている。
