パキスタン 大規模洪水 960人以上死亡 260万人以上が避難
パキスタンでは大雨による大規模な洪水が各地で発生し、ことし6月下旬からこれまでに960人以上が死亡したほか、中部パンジャブ州では260万人以上が避難を余儀なくされています。
パキスタンではモンスーンと呼ばれる雨季に入ったことし6月から3か月間の雨量が中部パンジャブ州で平年を36％上回るなど、大雨の影響で各地で大規模な洪水が相次いでいて、地元の災害当局によりますと、13日までに963人が死亡しています。
このうち、パンジャブ州ではインダス川の支流が氾濫し、275人が死亡、260万人以上が避難を余儀なくされています。
パキスタン有数の穀倉地帯ムルタンの郊外では広い範囲で住宅や農地が水につかる被害が出ていて、家を失った多くの人たちがテントで生活しています。
コメやマンゴーなどを栽培していた男性は、およそ16ヘクタールの農地が水につかったということで「元の状態に戻るには何年もかかりそうです。このような災害はこれまで経験したことがありません」と話していました。
専門家は、洪水をもたらした大雨は気候変動の影響によるものだと指摘しています。
パキスタン政府は被災者への水や食料などの配布を進めているほか、国連も救援物資を提供するため500万ドル、日本円で7億円余りを拠出するなど支援を急いでいます。
