新しいマツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionは、快適装備も豊富だ。
アドバンストキーレスエントリーシステムは標準なので、キーをポケットやカバンに入れたままでも開錠＆施錠ができる。
マツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionのブラックのファブリックシートは、コンパクトSUVとは思えぬほどたっぷりとしたサイズで、座り心地も良い。
マツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionの運転席は10Wayパワーシート&ドライビングポジションメモリー機能（シート位置/アクティブ・ドライビング・ディスプレイ/ドアミラー角度）が備わるのはありがたい。理想のドライビングポジションを得られる。
マツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionのインパネ上部には、10.25インチセンターディスプレイを装備。ナビゲーションシステムに加え、燃費情報、各種のメンテナンス情報や注意情報、i-DM情報などを表示する。Apple CarPlay、Android Autoにも対応。
ディスプレイがタッチ式ではないので、やや使いにくいものの、慣れの問題だ。センターコンソールのインフォテインメント用スイッチは、位置＆操作性がよく考えられているので、直感的に使える。
試乗車のマツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionは、マイルドハイブリッドのe-SKYACTIV G 2.0搭載モデルだ。マイルドハイブリッドシステム「M HYBRID」は、モーター（ベルトISG方式）と24Vリチウムイオン電池、DC-DCコンバーター、回生協調ブレーキからなるシステムである。
マツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionの走り出しは、モーターのアシストによって力強い。アクセルを踏むと、リニアにクルマが反応するのが気持ちいい。ほとんどの場面はガソリンエンジン駆動となるものの、「SKYACTIV G 2.0」は雑味のないフィーリングを味わえる。
115kW（156ps）／6,000rpmの最高出力と、199Nm（20.3kgf・m）／4,000rpmの最大トルクは、必要十分。実用域でなんら不満はない。しかも、今や希少な自然吸気エンジンに6ATの組み合わせは実にナチュラル。ちょっと懐かしい乗り味が、かえってクルマ好きの心を刺激する。ターボ装着車やCVT搭載車が増える現代のクルマにあって、オーソドックスな組み合わせはかえって新鮮だ。
マツダCX-30 20S Black Selectionが搭載するM HYBRIDは走行中、常にエネルギーの入力・出力を予測し、極限までスマートにエネルギーを使えるよう制御を造り込んだのも自慢だ。エンジン＆モーターの連携はシームレスだから、システムの作動状況はわかりづらい。でも、わかりづらいからこその自然な運転感覚だ。
