Threads、1万字の長文を添付できる新機能 URLも貼れる
Metaは4日(米国時間)、SNS「Threads」の投稿に最大10,000文字の長文テキストを添付できる新機能を導入した。投稿の添付テキストはThreads上で表示され、外部ウェブサイトのリンクを含めることも可能となる。
Threadsに投稿できるのは最大500文字だが、書籍やオンライン記事、ニュースレターやポッドキャストの書き起こしなどの「スクリーンショット」を投稿に添付しているユーザーも多い。こうしたユーザーの利用方法を反映した新機能として、長文のテキストを「添付」してThreads内で確認できる機能を追加する。
これにより、自分のアイディアや視点をThreads上で表現しやすくするほか、小説やニュースレターの執筆など長文のコンテンツを発表するクリエイターが、活動をThreads上で宣伝しやすくする。添付テキストには外部ウェブサイトのリンクを含めることも可能で、例えば書籍の一節をプレビューとしてThreadsの投稿に添付し、全文を読むためのリンクや書籍を購入するためのリンクなどを一緒に掲載できるという。

Threadsの全世界の月間アクティブアカウント数が4億を超えている。今回のアップデートにより、共通の興味関心を持つ利用者やクリエイターがつながり、コミュニティが活性化しやすくなることを目指すとしている。
