JR渋谷駅「新南改札」 約200m北側に移動 7月21日から使用開始
再開発が進む東京 渋谷で、JR渋谷駅の「新南改札」が現在の位置から北におよそ200メートル離れた線路の上に新たに建設される駅舎に移動し、ことしの7月21日から使用を始めるとJR東日本が発表しました。
JR渋谷駅の新たな「新南改札」は、国道246号線の南側の線路の上に建設される6階建ての駅舎の3階部分に設置されます。
現在の新南改札は山手線や埼京線のホームから離れた場所にあり、埼京線のホームにしか直接つながっていないため、山手線を利用する場合は、6分ほど歩く必要があります。
新たな新南改札は現在の位置からおよそ200メートル北側に移動し、山手線と埼京線の両方のホームに直接つながるということです。
また、線路の東と西に新たに開発された複合施設の「渋谷ストリーム」と「渋谷サクラステージ」につながる通路に面した場所に位置するため、JR東日本は線路を挟んだ東西の行き来がより容易になるほか、国道246号線の南側へのアクセスも改善されるとしています。
新たな「新南改札」はことし7月21日に使用が始まり、新しい駅舎の全面開業は2026年度の予定だとということです。
現在の新南改札は閉鎖されます。
渋谷駅とその周辺では、鉄道路線や通路が入り組んで「迷宮」とも呼ばれる駅の改良や、駅や線路、道路による街の分断の解消などを重点に「100年に1度」とされる再開発が進められています。
