「PayPay残高カード」、全ユーザーが利用可能に
Visaが使えるオンラインショップで、PayPay残高から支払えるバーチャルカード「PayPay残高カード」が、6月30日から本人確認(eKYC)が済んでいるすべてのユーザーが利用できるようになった。

PayPay残高カードは、PayPayアプリ上で即時発行できるバーチャルカード。Visaに対応した国内のネットサービスにおいて、PayPayの「PayPay残高」「PayPayポイント」を使った決済ができる。PayPay未導入のオンラインショップなどでも利用でき、通常のPayPay残高での支払いと同じようにPayPayポイントが貯まる。
PayPayは5月からPayPay残高カードの提供を開始し、利用可能なユーザーを順次拡大していた。
PayPay残高カード発行時の審査は不要で、年会費は無料。中学生や高校生など、クレジットカードを申し込めない人でもPayPayアカウントを持っていれば始められる。PayPay残高を超える決済ができないため使いすぎることなく、安心につながるとしている。
カード番号など利用時に必要な情報はPayPayアプリで確認できる。また、PayPayは5月から「Google Payとのアカウント連携」を開始しており、これを活用すればGoogle Chromeでのネットショッピングの支払い時に、カード番号や有効期限等が自動入力される。
