要人警護の警察官 半袖など軽装での職務を実施へ 熱中症対策で
要人警護を担当しSPなどと呼ばれる警察官は、これまで暑さの中でもスーツを着て職務にあたっていましたが、熱中症への対策として運用が見直され、半袖など軽装での職務が認められることになりました。3日公示される参議院選挙の演説会場などでも、軽装での要人警護が実施される見通しです。
総理大臣や衆参両院の議長、来日した外国からの賓客など要人の警護を担当する警察官は、警護員、SPなどと呼ばれ、これまではスーツの上着を着用し職務にあたることが基本とされてきました。
要人のすぐそばで安全を守る役割以外に、要人が訪れる会場周辺を幅広く警戒する役割があり、屋外で長時間職務にあたることもあります。
猛暑の日が増える中、熱中症への対策が検討されてきました。
警察庁などによりますと、全国の警察で7月から運用が改められ、半袖シャツなどの軽装や帽子を着用しての警護が認められることになりました。
これまで上着で見えないようにしていた拳銃や手錠、警棒などは腰に付けるポーチに収納できるようにし、全国の警察にあわせて400個のポーチが配備されたということです。
3日公示される参議院選挙でも各地の演説会場などで要人警護が行われる見通しで、全国の警察は服装に関する新たな運用によって警察官の健康管理や警護の徹底を図ることにしています。
警察の現場では警護員や機動隊員が必要に応じサングラスを着用する対策もすでに始まっています。
