寺の境内の樹齢700年超という藤の花が見頃に 千葉 銚子
千葉県銚子市の寺で、樹齢700年を超えるという藤の花が見頃を迎えています。
千葉県銚子市のJR銚子駅の近くにある妙福寺の境内には、4つの藤棚があり、4月中旬から花が咲き始め、いま見頃を迎えています。
このうち、室町時代に京都御所から移されたと伝えられる「臥龍の藤」は、根元の部分が横たわる竜のように見えることから、その名がついたとされます。
房の長さが1メートル50センチを超える大きなものもあり、これから、さらに伸びていくということです。
24日は、小雨の降る天気となりましたが、訪れた人は、かれんな花を写真に収めたり、甘い香りを楽しんだりしていました。
市内から訪れた男性は「毎年見に来ています。去年の花は咲くのが早く、見に来たときは終わっていましたが、ことしは例年どおりで、これからどんどん花が下がってくるでしょう」と話していました。
隣の旭市から訪れた男性は「写真に収めようと、家族と見に来ました。近隣の藤もいろいろ見ましたが、銚子の藤が一番よかった」と話していました。
寺によりますと、花は大型連休の終わりごろまで楽しめるということです。
