キュートなEV「HONDA e」でレッツゴー: なみちえのドライブ進化考
茅ヶ崎は曇天。なみちえの地元から大磯を目指している。
乗っているのは「HONDA e Advance」。コンセプトもデザインも先進的なEVだ。コンパクトでかわいらしい外観からは想像し難いが、ホンダらしく走りはパワフルで高性能。小回りも利くので、湘南エリアの細い路地だってきびきびと進んでいける。しかも車内（特に前席）は広くて、とても静かだ（遮音ガラスを採用）。だから会話だって弾む。

「いいですね、このサイズ感。気楽だし小さいクルマが好きなんですよ。目安はそうですね、着ぐるみが5体載せられるくらい。で、音楽かけてもいいですか?」
もちろん。フロントには端から端まで5つのスクリーンを水平に並べた「ワイドビジョンインストルメントパネル」がある。その中央のタッチパネルを操作して、スマートフォンとのペアリングは完了。車内には聴き慣れない旋律が響き、パネルにはプレイ中のトラックが表示された。Teddy Neguse? タイトルはヘブライ語。
「昨日までイスラエルにいたんです。それでイスラエル在住の友人に、教えてもらいました。あの国の複雑な歴史や社会背景が、ヘブライ語でメタ的に表現されていて、とても興味深い曲です」
そうこうしているうちに「Shonan Soy Studio」へ到着。
北海道産の特別栽培大豆を納豆菌で発酵させつつ、独自の製法でコーヒーのフレーバーをまとわせた「SOYFFEE（ソイフィー）」を開発。さらにこれを新しい食材として、スウィーツやスナック、スパイスふりかけも手がけている。
「わ、おいしい。野菜と玄米と穀物好きだから、わたしにぴったりです」
ヘルシーでユニークで新しい。どこか「HONDA e Advance」にも似ている、というのは言い過ぎだろうか。ゼロエミッションで、挑戦的な技術を宿し、暮らしや移動を変えるほどの新しさがある。ほら、丸いフロントライトが大豆に見えてこなくもない。
