国内では唯一 熊本で飼育のキンシコウ 20歳の誕生日
孫悟空のモデルとも言われ、国内では唯一、熊本市動植物園で飼育されているキンシコウが20歳の誕生日を迎えました。
熊本市動植物園で飼育されているメスのキンシコウの「ヨウヨウ」は国内では唯一、熊本市動植物園で飼育されているキンシコウで、11日が20歳の誕生日でした。
動植物園によりますと、キンシコウの20歳は人間では60歳くらいに相当するということです。
「ヨウヨウ」は、誕生日のお祝いにファンから届いたリンゴなどを器用に食べていました。
「ヨウヨウ」はもともと熊本市動植物園で4匹の家族とともに飼育されていましたが、8年前の熊本地震で揺れが続いたことによるストレスなどで家族は相次いで死に、3年前には残っていた兄も死んでたった1匹になりました。
飼育を担当する的場秀嗣さんは「毎朝、『おはよう』と声をかけ、お客さんも『またね』と声をかけてくれるのでヨウヨウも元気をもらっています。高齢なので長生きしてほしいです」と話していました。
家族で訪れた母親は「間近で見るのは初めてで顔だちがきれいだなと思いました。多くの子どもたちに見てほしいです」と話していました。
