岩手 大船渡 山林火災 広がった要因など専門家が調査研究へ
平成以降、最大規模の面積が焼失した岩手県大船渡市の山林火災で、火が市街地を含む広範囲に燃え広がった要因などを明らかにしようと、国内の専門家のグループが調査研究を行うことになりました。
ことし2月に発生した岩手県大船渡市の山林火災では、焼失面積がおよそ3370ヘクタールと平成以降で最大規模となり、国内18の研究機関の専門家でつくるグループは、市街地を含む広範囲に燃え広がった要因などを明らかにしようと調査研究を行うことになりました。
研究計画によりますと火災や都市防災などの専門家が5つのテーマに分かれてデータ分析や現地調査などを行い、入り江が多いリアス式海岸特有の地形が延焼を加速するメカニズムや火の粉の「飛び火」による市街地への延焼の実態などについて解明を目指すということです。
また、調査研究の結果を踏まえ、今後、山林火災が起きた際にいち早く消火すべき場所の優先順位などについて今年度中に取りまとめ、提言として公表したいとしています。
グループを取りまとめる東京理科大学の桑名一徳教授は「今回の山林火災は複合的な要因が重なって延焼が広がった可能性がある。幅広い分野の専門家とともに調査することで、今後の発生予測や被害防止に役立てたい」と話していました。
