新宿西口、9月27日に東西つなぐ歩行者動線 車は南北通り抜け不可に
新宿駅西口に、歩行者が車道を横断することなく東西方向に行き来できる歩行者動線が、9月27日(土)に誕生する。車両は南北方向(京王百貨店側と小田急ハルク側)の通り抜けができなくなる。また、一部路線バスののりばが京王百貨店前に移設される。

新宿駅西口駅前広場を人中心の空間にするための動線変更。9月27日未明から、新宿駅西口駅前広場の車両動線や歩行者動線を変更する工事を実施する。実施時間は0時頃から3時頃にかけて順次。
歩行者は、現在再開発が進められている小田急百貨店跡地前と、スバルビル跡地前の間を、車道を横断することなく直進できるようになる。また、バス停へのアクセスは現在は地下通路を通る必要があるが、地上からアクセスできるようになる。
車両は、小田急百貨店跡地前およびスバルビル跡地前の通行ができなくなるため、京王百貨店・ヨドバシカメラ側と小田急ハルク側の間の移動は迂回する必要がある。東京都は迂回路に関する動画を公開している。
バス停は、永福町方面ののりばが京王百貨店前に移設されるなどの変更がある。変更日時は9月27日始発から。
なお、動線変更工事が荒天等で延期となった場合は、10月4日に実施する。
