長寿の人が多い京都 京丹後で「世界長寿サミット」始まる
長寿の人が多いことで知られる京都府北部の京丹後市で、世界各地から人間の寿命に関する研究者などが集まって最新の成果などを話し合う「世界長寿サミット」が始まりました。
「世界長寿サミット」は京都府立医科大の教授などで作る実行委員会が初めて企画しました。
会合は、人口10万人当たりの100歳以上の人数が去年9月の時点で全国平均のおよそ3倍にあたる220人余りと長寿の人が多いことで知られる京丹後市で開かれ、世界の13の国と地域から人間の寿命に関する研究者のほか健康関連の企業や行政の担当者なども参加します。
開会式では、平均年齢が77歳という京丹後市で活動するお年寄りのグループが軽やかな踊りを披露しました。
続いて実行委員長を務める京都府立医科大学の夜久均学長が「最先端の研究を共有し、健康長寿について熱い議論を交わして有意義な会合となることを願っている」とあいさつしました。
その後、研究成果の報告が行われイギリスで老化について調べている研究者やアメリカのジャーナリストなどが講演しました。
「世界長寿サミット」は16日から今月19日までの4日間行われ、市民向けの講座も開かれる予定だということです。
実行委員会は、来年以降も各国で開催したいとしています。
