インド南部 集会で大勢の人が折り重なるように倒れ36人死亡
インド南部で27日、政党の集会に参加していた大勢の人たちが折り重なるように倒れ、子どもを含む36人が死亡しました。
インド南部タミルナド州で27日、地元の政党の集会に参加していた大勢の人たちが折り重なるように倒れました。
州政府によりますと、この事故でこれまでに少なくとも子ども8人を含む36人が死亡したということです。
集会は、去年設立された地元の政党の党首で、映画俳優の男性が開いたもので、地元メディアは警察の話としておよそ3万人が会場に詰めかけ、演説用の車両のそばまで人々が押し寄せた際に事故が起きたと伝えています。
ロイター通信が配信した映像では、車両を取り囲むようにして大勢の人がひしめきあう様子が確認できます。
事故を受けて州政府は、調査委員会を立ち上げて詳しい原因を調べることにしています。
インドでは、こうした事故がたびたび起きていて、ことし1月には北部のウッタルプラデシュ州でヒンドゥー教の宗教行事に集まった人たちが折り重なるように倒れ、少なくとも30人が死亡しました。
