関税措置 日米事務レベル協議継続 閣僚交渉の環境整えたい考え
アメリカの関税措置を受けた日米交渉は、今回の閣僚交渉でも歩み寄りには至らず、事務レベルの協議を続けることになりました。日本政府は、相手側の出方も見極めながら接点を模索し、改めて閣僚交渉を行う環境を整えたい考えです。
アメリカ・トランプ政権の関税措置をめぐり、ワシントンでラトニック商務長官と閣僚交渉を行い、30日帰国した赤澤経済再生担当大臣は、石破総理大臣らと会談し、進ちょくなどを報告しました。
赤澤大臣は「わが国には守らなければならない国益があり、当然、アメリカにとってもそうだ。両国が『これならいい』と両首脳の判断を仰げるよう、真摯かつ誠実な協議を精力的に続けていきたい」と述べました。
閣僚交渉は、今回も歩み寄りには至らず、事務レベルの協議を続けることになりました。
これを受けて日本側は外務省や経済産業省の幹部らが現地に残っていて、隔たりが埋まっていない自動車の関税率の扱いなどをめぐって、引き続き意見を交わすものとみられます。
こうした中、トランプ大統領は、FOXニュースのインタビューで、日本からの自動車の輸入が多い一方、アメリカからの輸出は少ないとして「公平ではない」と述べ、容易には譲歩しない姿勢を示しています。
日本政府は、事務レベルでの協議で、相手側の出方も見極めながら接点を模索し、改めて閣僚交渉を行う環境を整えたい考えです。
