セリーヌは、 2026年 スプリングコレクションを2025年7月6日（現地時間）にフランス・パリで開催。目まぐるしいデザイナー交代劇による注目度の高い新デザイナーのデビューコレクションが発表される今シーズン、パリ・メンズファッションウィークから1週間後、2025-26年秋冬パリ・オートクチュール・ファッションウィークが始まる前日にあたる絶好のタイミングで、マイケル・ライダーによるセリーヌが最高のデビューを飾った。
熱波警報が発令されたパリの続く酷暑をクールダウンする雨がしとしと降り続くなか、セリーヌ本社であるヴィヴィエンヌ通り16番地の会場周辺には、来場するセレブリティを一目見ようとファン、パパラッチが集まり騒然としていた。BTSのV、パク・ボゴム、ペ・スジらの豪華なセレブリティだけでなく、確認できただけでも、ジョナサン・アンダーソン、ラフ・シモンズ、ルーシー&ルーク・メイヤーがといったスターデザイナーが集まり、マイケル・ライダーへの期待値の高さが伺える。
会場へ足を踏み入れると、セリーヌのアイコンであるトリオンフを模したシートが現われ、頭上には巨大なスカーフが優雅になびいている。パリならではのシックな内装を活かした白を基調とした会場内で忙しなく動くセリーヌのスタッフは、ウォッシュドデニムを中心にブレザーやTシャツなど、各々のスタイリングで個性を表現し、これまでエディ・スリマンが築き上げてきたモノクロームでストイックな世界観とは明らかに違った雰囲気が漂う。
発表された全72ルックからは、ウエストがシェイプされ、長めの着丈で仕立てられた構築的なフォルムのテーラードやスモーキングジャケットなど、ライダーが10年間デザイン・ディレクターとして活躍した、知的でミニマルなデザインにリラックスと力強さが宿るフィービー・ファイロ時代を彷彿とさせるアイテムだけでなく、スキニーパンツやモーターサイクルジャケットなど、前任者であるエディ・スリマンが手がけたセリーヌのシャープなクールネスも共存させた。
さらに、直近ではポロ ラル フローレンのクリエイティブ・ディレクターを務めていたアメリカ人デザイナーのライダーは、アメカジの代名詞であるラガーシャツやスウェットシャツのシルエットをモダンデザインし、アイビースタイルの必需品であるレジメンタルタイと肩がけニットを多用することで、アメリカの王道ファッションを巧みにスタイリングに取り入れた。
タイトからワイドまでの多様なシルエットのバランスも特徴だ。マキシ丈のコートやロング丈のトップスには、シャツとハイネックのレイヤードで縦長をより強調し、ほとんどのメンズルックの足元はバレエシューズで軽やかさを出した。パリのメゾンらしいスカーフ使いに加え、リングやブレスレットの重ね付けによる装飾的な小物使いで仕上げたマスキュリンな女性像に比べて、メンズはミニマルなスタイリングが多く、ナードでユースな印象を受けるのもフィービーとエディのコントラストによるものだろう。

セリーヌを象徴する品質、タイムレスであること、スタイルといった理想は、世の中で語られることが多くなっているにもかかわらず、正しく捉え、保ち、定義することは困難です。
私たちは、それらを服の着こなし方に置き換えることに取り組みました。私たちが何者であり、何を象徴しているかという姿勢の表現です。
私は、服が着る人の人生の一部となり、一瞬を切り取るだけでなく、何年にもわたる仕草や出来事、変化、過去、現在、未来、思い出、実用性、ファンタジー、人生そのものを語る存在になる、という考え方を常に大切にしています。
ライダーは、ステートメントで述べている通り、メゾンを体現するタイムレスであること、スタイルがあることを“着こなし”に置き換え、B.C.B.Gの代名詞的な存在であったメゾンのコードに、燦然と輝くヘリテージと自身のアイデンティティを融合・ツイストさせ、巧みなスタイリングによって新生セリーヌのエレガンスを軽やかに打ち出すことに成功した。デビューコレクションは、11月には展開され、9月のパリ・ウィメンズ・ファッションウィークでは、早くも2回目となる2026年 サマーコレクションを発表する。実力派、マイケル・ライダー率いるセリーヌがファッションサーキットに華麗にカムバックした。
