Stripe、リアル店舗に進出 専用端末とiPhoneタッチの「Stripe Terminal」
Stripeは3日、リアル店舗向けの「Stripe Terminal」を日本市場で展開すると発表した。オンライン決済大手のStripeが店舗での決済に対応し、店舗とオンライン決済を連動したシームレスな買い物体験の実現とともに、事業者にとっても垣根のないサービス展開を目指す。

Stripe Terminalでは、BBPOS Wise Pad 3とStripe Reader S700、Stripe Reader S710といったハードウェアを用意する。BBPOS Wise Pad 3はPOS端末とBluetoothペアリング可能なPINパッドを備えたモバイルリーダー、Stripe Reader S700はAndroidベースのリーダーで、S710はセルラー対応の新モデルとなる。
価格はBBPOS Wise Pad 3が10,480円、Stripe Reader S700が52,480円。日本は25カ国目のStripe Terminal提供市場となる。
決済手段としてはタッチ決済を含むクレジットカードとPayPay、WeChat Payに対応、PayPayは別途審査が必要となる。その他の支払手段の対応も検討中で、Suicaなどの交通系ICカードやiD、QUICPayなどについて事業者等と相談しながら進める方針。なお、決済手数料はカードが3.24%。
また、iPhoneのタッチ決済にも対応する。特別なハードウェアを使わずにStripe Terminal SDKを活用したWebサービスがあれば、店頭でシームレスに非接触決済に対応できる。
これらのハードウェアのほか、StripeのAPIを使ったPOSシステム等、商品在庫などを管理するサービスが必須となる。そのため、すでにECなどでStripeを導入している事業者が主な対象となる。
Stripeでは、Stripe Terminal向けに、プログラマブルなAPI、SDK、統一ダッシュボードなどを提供。事業者は自社のサービスに沿った形で機能開発することで、オンライン/対面などの複数のチャネルでリアルタイムに顧客の行動を把握できるようにする。
ECプラットフォームの「Shopify」は海外ではStripe Terminalに対応しており、今後日本でも対応予定。そのため、ShopifyでEC展開している事業者は、Stripe TerminalもしくはiPhoneを導入し、簡単な設定を行なうだけで実店舗用の決済に対応し、商品管理などもECと実店舗を共通化した「ユニファイドコマース」を実現できるという。
■ EC/実店舗を問わない「ユニファイドコマース」のために
ストライプ日本法人 代表取締役のダニエル・ヘフェルナン氏は、ユニファイドコマースにより20%の売上拡大が見込めるというガートナーの調査を提示し、日本においてもユニファイドコマースを加速する枠組みが必要と説明。そのためにStripe Terminalの投入を決めたという。
ECと実店舗のそれぞれが連携した施策は「オムニチャネル」として10年ほど前から展開されているが、ユニファイドコマースは「オンラインのデータと店頭決済のデータが統合されている」ことが重要という。売上やデータ、顧客分析などが統一されたダッシュボードで実現できることがStripe Terminalの特徴で「いちばん大事な部分」とする。
こうした考えからStripe Terminalは、Stripe Reader S700などの端末のブランドではなく、ダッシュボードで実現される機能や体験のブランドと位置づけている。日本では、ベータユーザーとしてモバイルバッテリーシェアの「ChargeSpot」を展開するINFORICHが導入しているほか、ホテルや飲食、当日券を含むイベントチケットなどでのニーズを確認しているという。
他社では、例えばSquareも端末とPOSアプリを提供し、「ユニファイドコマース」を実現している。Squareとの違いとして、Stripeでは「アプリ」を提供せずに、SDKやAPIの提供のみのため、ユーザー企業側の開発が必要。Squareは買って開梱したらすぐに使えるが、Stripeでは一定の開発ノウハウ等が必要となる。
一方で、ECプラットフォームの「Shopify」はStripeに対応しており、海外ではStripe Terminalに対応済み。そのため、Shopifyをすでに導入している事業者であれば、軽微な開発やノーコードでの設定でStripe Terminalを導入できるようになる。ある意味、「Stripeを意識せずに実店舗対応できる」点が強みという。
ヘフェルナン氏は、「現状のPOSはホリゾンタルSaaS的で、業界等を問わない共通機能として使われている。一方今後のPOSはバーティカルSaaS的になっていく。例えばECだったらShopify、他の業界であれば別のサービスがPOSを担っていくと予想している。Stripeではそこに組み込みやすい仕組みを作って、そこに端末が入っていくイメージ」と違いを説明した。
なお、Stripe Terminalの導入は25カ国目。日本市場導入はやや遅くなった形だが、「端末の技適対応や、CAFIS対応、JCBブランドへの対応など、日本向けで対応したい要件が複数あった。また、PayPayにも対応するなど、必要なローカライズを行なってからでは立ち上げても意味がない。これらに投資し、揃ったタイミングが今だった」と説明した。
