マクラーレン750Sは真のスーパーカーだ!!! ちょっとの差が大きいワケとは
最新のマクラーレン「750S」は、フツーの道でもスーパーな乗り物だった！ 『GQ JAPAN』ライフスタイル・エディターのイナガキがリポートする。

750Sへ乗り込むべく、ディヘドラルドアを開ける。ほかのマクラーレン同様、軽い力でスーッと開いていく様相に、クオリティの高さを実感。以前のマクラーレンと比べ、工作精度は確実に向上しているように思う。
ちなみに750Sのディヘドラルドアは、ルーフの一部と共に上方へとドラマチックに展開する。広い開口部であるものの、高剛性を維持しているという。
750Sは、オープンバージョンのスパイダーも選べる。スパイダーはリトラクタブルハードトップ（RHT）を採用し、車速50km/h（31mph）までであれば11秒未満で開閉可能。カーボンファイバー製モノコックシャシーが高剛性ゆえ補強の必要は一切ないそうで、クーペからの変更点もRHTのほか、内蔵ロールオーバー保護システム、専用のリアアッパーストラクチャー程度で、すべてがカーボンファイバー製だ。
車内は前に試乗したGTSと違う、デザインでまとめられている。設計年次の違いもあって、750Sの方が新鮮だ。
運転席に座ると、ドライバー重視のデジタルメーターが目に入る。メーター横にはアクティブダイナミクス機能の操作スイッチを両サイドに装備。ドライバーはステアリングから手を離さずに、パワートレインとハンドリングのモードを選べるため、操作性が高まった。
試乗車のシートはオプションのカーボンファイバー製のレーシングタイプ。ホールド性は抜群で、硬派な750Sにはピッタリ。リクライニングこそしないものの、スライド機能とステアリングホイールの調整機能を組み合わされば、理想的なドライビングポジションを得られるので安心してほしい。
走り出す前、新ビークルリフト・システムのスイッチを操作し、フロントを上昇。いかなる段差でも車両を傷つけぬよう慎重に公道へ……。ちなみに、上昇に要する時間は720Sの10秒から、わずか4秒に短縮されたので使い勝手が高まった。
搭載するエンジンは4.0リッターのV8ガソリンツインターボは、最高出力750ps、最大トルク800Nm！ フツーの一般道では、これほどのパワーは持て余すのは致し方ない。ちなみにエンジンは、室内からもガラス越しに見られる。
やや思いアクセルペダルとブレーキペダルを操り、最寄りの高速道路のインターチェンジに向かう。途中のワインディングロードでは、軽さを謳う750Sだけあってひらりひらりとコーナーをパスしていく。ひとまわり、いやふたまわりコンパクトなライトウェイトスポーツカー並みのハンドリングを披露する。軽いって素晴らしい！
ちなみに可能な限りカーボン・ファイバーや軽量オプションを選択した場合、クーペの最軽量乾燥重量は1277kg！ パワーウェイトレシオは、同セグメントで最高の587ps/tに達する。市販モデルで、これほどの数値を実現するのはマクラーレンならではだ。
高速道路に入ると、750Sの高性能をさらに体感。アクセルをほんのわずか踏むだけで、ドーンと加速する。0〜100km/h加速タイムは2.8秒、0〜200km/h加速タイムは7.2秒。7.2秒で200km/hに到達するなら、今話題の“19.2秒”もあれば500km/hくらいまで到達しそうな勢いだ。もっとも、750Sクーペはそこまで速くはなく最高速度は332km/hである。
