同居人「冷蔵庫のスペース空けておいた」実際は……→衝撃の光景に「これ全部1人で？」「食べても気づかない」
英語圏で人気のネット掲示板Redditに、冷蔵庫内を撮影した写真が投稿された。投稿者いわく「新しいルームメイトから『冷蔵庫にスペースを空けておいたから、食料品を入れていいよ』と言われた」とのことだが……驚きの光景が反響を呼んでいる。

「スペースを空けておいたから」という言葉とは裏腹に、冷蔵庫内は同居人のものとみられる食材で埋め尽くされている。縦置きやチルド室まで食材が所狭しと並び、投稿者が食材を置くスペースはほぼない。
スレッドには、約1万5000件のリアクションがつき、さまざまな意見が寄せられている。
「私だったら、こんな同居人は嫌だ」「この量を全部1人で……？」「サルサやピクルスが2瓶、ヨーグルトが2カップ、卵も2パック……よく見たら同じ食材で場所が埋まってる」といった嘆きや驚き……
「きっちり半分ずつ分けようって話し合うべき」「期限切れの食材が絶対にあるはず。捨てちゃっていいし、そうすればかなりスペースができると思う」「食べちゃえ。きっと気づかないよ」と勝手にアドバイスを送るユーザーも。
わずかな隙間を見つけ、「まだスペースあるじゃん。そんなにわがままにならなくても」「入りきらない食材は細かくカットすればいい」と冗談めかしたコメントも寄せられた。
投稿者は、そのうちの1つに返信。「ジャム（jelly）」と「嫉妬する」の短縮形（jealous→jelly）をダジャレにし「I'm jelly of all the space they have for their food.（＝こんなにスペースを使えるルームメイトが羨ましいんですけど）」と皮肉たっぷりにつづっている。
