AI学習への利用可否を宣言 クリエイティブ・コモンズ“シグナル”
クリエイティブ・コモンズ(CC)は、ユーザーが保有するデータをAIの学習にどのように再利用されるか表明する「CC signals」プロジェクトを発表した。11月にアルファ版が提供される見込み。GitHubリポジトリが公開されており、フィードバックの受付けを開始している。

「CC signals」は、インターネット上にデータを公開・共有する場合に、そのデータをAIの学習でどのように再利用すべきか、技術的、あるいは法的に宣言するもの。AIへの利用を制限することを目的とせず、相互に利益のある、新たな共有の規範を目指す。人間に向けるだけでなく、AIの学習システムが読み取れる設計になるという。
CCはこれを、データ保有者とAIモデルの訓練者との間の新たな協定と位置づけ、「知識がオープンであり続ける未来にコミットするなら、この新たな種類のギブアンドテイクを主張する必要がある」としている。
「CC signals」では初期提案として「Credit」「Direct Contribution」「Ecosystem Contribution」「Open」の4つがまとめられている。その内容から、「Credit」以外は排他利用となる。
「Credit」はクレジットの付与、出典の明示を求めるもの。「Ecosystem Contribution」(エコシステム貢献)は、誠実な評価に基づき、AIが恩恵を受けているエコシステムに金銭または現物で支援を提供するというもの。「Direct Contribution」(直接貢献)は、誠実に評価した上で、データ提供者がその活動を続けられるよう、金銭または現物で支援を提供するというもの。
「Open」(オープン)は、使用されるAIシステムがオープンでなければならないというもの。この場合、AIシステムはモデル・オープンネス・フレームワーク(MOF、Model Openness Framework)クラスII、MOFクラスI、またはオープンソースAI定義(OSAID)を満たさなければならない。
