Meta AIがスタート インスタやFBでAI検索や画像生成
Metaは18日、新たなAIアシスタント「Meta AI」をFacebook、Instagram、WhatsApp、Messengerで搭載開始した。米国のほか、オーストラリア、カナダ、ガーナ、ジャマイカ、ニュージーランド、ナイジェリア、パキスタン、シンガポール、南アフリカなどの英語環境で利用可能。日本ではまだ対応していない。

同日に発表した大規模言語モデル(LLM)「Meta Llama 3」を活用し、AIによる高速な画像生成や、フィード、チャット、検索など、様々なアプリにおいてMeta AIを使ったサービスを実現する。
例えばInstagramで友達と夜の外出についてDMで相談しているときに、DMの会話のやり取り中で、Meta AIに土曜日の夜のコンサートを探してもらう、といった使い方が可能。また引っ越し先のアパートの家具を探すときに、リアルタイム画像生成の「Imagine」により、自分の理想のイメージを写真として生成するといった使い方も可能。Imagineは、WhatsAppとMeta AIのWebから利用できる。
InstagramやMessengerなどのアプリに加え、Webサイトのmeta.aiでも利用可能。また、Facebook、Instagram、WhatsApp、Messengerの検索でも利用可能で、アプリ間を行き来することなく、ウェブ全体からリアルタイムの情報にアクセスできる。例えば、Messengerのグループチャットでスキー旅行を計画している場合、Messengerの検索から、Meta AIにニューヨークからコロラドまでのフライトを検索してもらうといった事が可能。
Facebookのフィード上にもMeta AIを表示し、気になる投稿に対して、Meta AIで検索できる。例えば、アイスランドのオーロラの投稿をみたら、オーロラ鑑賞に最適な時期をMeta AIに質問できる。
Meta AIは米国ではレイバンのMetaスマートグラスでも利用可能。また、今後、Meta Questにも搭載するなど、順次Metaサービス上での展開を強化していく。
