ローマからさらに一歩前進した!!! 新型フェラーリ アマルフィ日本上陸へ
日本に上陸したフェラーリの新型「アマルフィ」の特徴とは？ プロダクトマーケティング責任者へのインタビューを交えて、大谷達也がリポートする。

アマルフィのボディサイズはほぼローマと同じだが、キャビンがより広々と感じられる工夫も施されているという。
「新しいコクピットはセンタートンネルが少し低くなっていて、スペースがゆったりしているように感じられるはずです。視界も良好なので、何時間乗り続けても疲れにくいと思いますよ」
もっとも、アマルフィの最大の魅力がエクステリアデザインにあるのは間違いのないところだ。
「ローマに比べると、アマルフィはクリーンでモノリシック（「美しく一体化されている様」の意味）で、とてもシンプルなデザインです。ただし、シンプルなデザインというのは、実はいちばん難しい仕事でもあります。それでも『シンプルなデザインには普遍性がある』という信念のもと、私たちはこのデザインを選択しました」
デザインについて語り始めると、カレンド氏の言葉はさらに熱を帯び始めた。
「皆さんは、このクルマを目の当たりにして、そこにエレガンスを見いだすでしょう。いいえ、ただのエレガンスではありません。スポーティーなエレガンスです。そして、フェラーリのスポーティなライフスタイルがそこに投影されていることに気づくはずです。そこにはふたつの魂があって、ひとつはフォーミュラ1を髣髴とさせるスポーティさ、そしてもうひとつはカクテルドレスのようなエレガンスです。この点において、私たちはローマからさらに一歩前進できたと確信しています」
おかげでアマルフィはヨーロッパ各地で大好評を博していると語ったカレンド。
では、日本ではどうなのか？ フェラーリ ジャパン代表のドナート・ロマニエッロに語ってもらった。
「アマルフィは日本でも大変好評です。ディーラーから届いた声は、これまででもっともポジティブなものだったと確信しています。たくさんご注文をいただいていて、ウェイティングはとても長いものになりそうですが、お客様にはできるだけご不便をおかけしないように努力しています。それでもすべてのお客様にご満足いただけるかどうかは、わかりません。なにしろ、お客様のご要望より1台だけ少なく作るのがフェラーリの伝統ですから……」
