軽タイプのEVが久々の登場、日産「サクラ」と三菱「eKクロス EV」への期待度
日産自動車と三菱自動車が、共同開発した軽EVを2022年夏に発売すると5月20日に発表した。その日産「サクラ」と三菱「eKクロス EV」は、いかなるEVなのか。写真で紹介しよう。

軽乗用タイプの電気自動車（EV）が“復活”する。日産自動車と三菱自動車が、共同開発した軽EVを2022年夏に発売すると5月20日に発表したのだ。軽タイプの乗用車のEVは、三菱自動車「i-MiEV」（2009年発売）以来となる。
日産からは「サクラ」、三菱からは「eKクロス EV」として発売される新しいEVは、日産が設計開発し、三菱の水島工場で生産される。小回りが利くという軽自動車ならではの特性に、日産は「リーフ」の開発で培った技術をフル投入したという。
容量20kWhのリチウムイオンバッテリーを搭載しており、最高出力は47kW（最大トルク195Nm）、最高時速は130km/h。航続距離は最大180kmなので、普段使いには問題ないだろう。運転支援技術「プロパイロット」のような先端技術も搭載する。
それでいて「手の届きやすい価格帯」を謳っており、サクラの価格は233万3，100円からとなっている。国の補助金を活用した場合の実質購入価格は約178万円（税込み）からとなる予定で、自治体によってはさらに補助金を申請できる。EVは高価格であるというこれまでの“常識”を覆す可能性を秘めていると言っていいだろう。
デザインは軽トールワゴンの文法にのっとったもので、既存の軽ワゴンから乗り換えても違和感はなさそうだ。一方で、バッテリーが床下に配置されることから、低重心で安定感のある走りが期待できる。
こうした特徴から考えると、サクラとeKクロス EVは新たな市場を開拓する期待を背負っている言っていい。
