IPC ロシアとベラルーシパラリンピック委の資格停止を完全解除
IPC＝国際パラリンピック委員会は、ウクライナへの軍事侵攻を続けるロシアと、その同盟国のベラルーシのパラリンピック委員会に対する資格停止を完全に解除し、両国の選手が来年のミラノ・コルティナパラリンピックに国の代表として出場できると明らかにしました。
一方、IOC＝国際オリンピック委員会は両国の選手のミラノ・コルティナオリンピックへの参加について「中立な立場の個人資格の選手」としてのみ認めるとしていて、対応が分かれる形になりました。
IPCは3年前、2022年の北京パラリンピックでは、開幕直前に始まったウクライナへの軍事侵攻を理由に、ロシアと、その同盟国のベラルーシの選手の参加を認めず、その後、両国のパラリンピック委員会を無期限の資格停止としました。
しかし、不服の申し立てを受けて、2023年9月の総会で部分的な資格停止に緩和し、2024年のパリ大会ではロシアとベラルーシの選手について、国歌や国旗は使用できず国の代表としてではない「中立な立場の個人資格の選手」として参加を認めました。
そして、IPCは27日に韓国で開いた総会で、ロシアとベラルーシのパラリンピック委員会の会員資格について改めて審議し、資格停止を完全に解除することを決めたと発表しました。
IPCはNHKの取材に対し、両国の選手は来年3月のミラノ・コルティナ大会に「一切の制限なく出場できる」と回答し、国の代表として出場できることを明らかにしました。
一方、IOCは今月19日の理事会で両国の選手の来年2月のミラノ・コルティナオリンピックへの参加について「中立な立場の個人資格の選手」としてのみ認めることを決めていて、パラリンピックとオリンピックで対応が分かれる形になりました。
