浜松 早めの田植え 暑さによる収穫量への影響避けるため
コメの価格高騰が続く中、浜松市では、猛暑による収穫量への影響を避けようと、例年より時期を早めて田植えが行われています。
浜松市中央区大人見町にある農業法人の水田では、収穫時期が早い「早場米」の田植えが今月22日から始まっています。
植えられているのは暑さに強い品種の「にじのきらめき」で、30日も午前中から15センチほどに育った苗を機械を使って次々に植えていました。
去年は猛暑の影響でコメの収穫量が落ち込んだということで、ことしは暑さによる影響を避けようと、例年よりも時期を早めて田植えを行っているということです。
またコメの価格高騰が続く中、法人では、高齢化などでコメ作りを続けるのが難しい農家の田んぼも活用し、去年より10ヘクタール多い25ヘクタールで栽培しています。
収穫は8月末から始まる見通しで、およそ140トンの収穫を見込んでいるということです。
農業法人を経営する宮本純社長は、「ことしはなるべく暑さを避け収穫量を上げたいと思い、大急ぎで4月中に田植えを始めました。生産者としては少しでも多くお米を安定して供給していきたいです」と話していました。
