福井 赤ちゃんの泣きっぷりで健やかな成長を願う「泣き相撲」
赤ちゃんの泣きっぷりを競い合い、健やかな成長を願う「泣き相撲」が福井市の神社で行われました。
福井市にある護国神社では、毎年この時期に「泣き相撲」が行われていて、ことしは生後6か月から1歳半の赤ちゃんおよそ300人が参加しました。
はっぴを着て、鉢巻きをしめた赤ちゃんは自分の「しこ名」が呼ばれると、力士に抱きかかえられて土俵に見立てた台にあがりました。
そして「はっけよいのこった」の合図で力士が赤ちゃんを高い高いしたり、大きな声をあげたりして驚かせると、手足をばたつかせて元気良く泣く子もいれば、きょとんとした顔をして、泣き出さない子もいて、会場では笑いが起きていました。
後日、泣き声の大きさやかわいらしさなどを総合的に審査して「横綱」や「大関」などが決められ、来月、表彰式が行われるということです。
生後11か月の娘と東京から参加した20代の父親は「娘はもっと泣くかと思っていたのですが、冷静な取り組みでした。これからもすくすくと元気に育ってほしい」と話していました。
