政府の主食用輸入米 例年より3か月早く流通 米価への影響焦点
今年度、政府が主食用として輸入したコメが、例年より3か月早く、国内の流通業者の間で出回り始めました。新米の価格が高値となる中、割安な外国産米が市場に出ることで、今後のコメの価格への影響が焦点になります。
政府は「ミニマムアクセス」と呼ばれる仕組みで、毎年およそ77万トンのコメを、関税をかけず義務的に輸入していて、このうち10万トンは、主食用として民間に入札で販売されています。
この主食用の輸入米について、農林水産省は、コメの価格安定につなげようと、入札を例年より前倒しして、ことし6月から実施し、これまで行われた2回の入札で、ほぼ全量にあたるおよそ6万トンが落札されました。
農林水産省によりますと、落札されたコメは、アメリカ産やオーストラリア産などで、例年よりおよそ3か月早く、9月11日から卸売業者への引き渡しが始まったということです。
一方、1キロあたり341円の高い関税が課される民間のコメの輸入も急増していて、財務省の貿易統計によりますと、ことし7月の輸入量は2万6000トン余りで、去年の同じ月のおよそ200倍になりました。
新米の価格が高値となる中、割安な外国産米が市場に出回ることで、今後のコメの価格にどのように影響を及ぼすかが焦点になります。
